As I walked into the Carter’s store near my house today I was taken back to years ago when we lived in Wisconsin and the nearest Carter’s store was about an hour away. I remembered loading my two little ones (at the time I just had 2) into the car and making the long trek there. I took trips there periodically to stock up on little boy clothes for my kiddos because I knew the drive was worth it. Walking into Carter’s today took me back and it was a sweet memory.
And here I am, like 8 years later, still shopping at Carter’s for my little boys.
Now, I hate back to school because I love summer and don’t want it to end, but at least the blow is softened by fun back to school shopping and the excitement of Fall weather looming ahead!
My trip to Carter’s today ended with some really fun new clothes for my two littlest:
The thing is, my kids don’t want to dress like models in magazines (darn it!). Sure, the kids you see in print always look so cute in their jeans and button down shirts, layers and jackets and matching shoes.
My boys think that THEY need to choose their own clothes, not mom. Who taught them that?! They don’t want to wear what I pick for them, they want to pick their own. And the truth is, that’s how I prefer it. Because I want to raise them to be individuals who can think for themselves and have a sense of their own personality.
So…not a single one of my boys will even wear jeans. They want comfy, moveable athletic pants. Clothes they can be little boys in. Lucky for me, I found just the thing at Carter’s in their Fall Active Wear Line:
This little guy can’t be held down. He wants to move, he wants to climb, he wants to hang upside down:
And these clothes are just right for that.
I also love that I can get cute T-shirts that they love (3 year old picked out his own “crocodile shirt”) and I can layer them with long sleeve thermal shirts from Carter’s to make them work all year round. Then both of us are happy:
He’s also wearing soft, sweatpants that we got at Carter’s too.
The 6 year old loved his choices as well:
They just work well on the playground. And I’ll admit, mom’s happy with their choices too. They look cute!
Now, there’s a whole side of Carter’s that I don’t get to travel to. It’s the girl section. But PEOPLE! If you have a little girl, please tell me you shop there. They have such cute stuff! My bigger boys were even drawn over there to look at the cute things while I shopped with the littles. Too cute!
Just a couple more things to know about Carter’s:

- On their website they help you pair items together and give you ideas of what items go well together as well as accessories
