I had a crazy idea last week that I decided to try and I am happy to report that it turned out great! My idea? Mix some jello into rice krispie treats to color them and add flavor. I wasn’t sure how it would taste, but it tasted great AND it looks festive! Here’s my patriotic Jello Krispy Pops:

Patriotic Jello Krispy Pops:
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 40 large marshmallows or 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 6 C Rice Krispies
- 4-5 tsp jello mix in flavor of your choice
- Lollipop sticks
In a large, microwavable bowl, melt butter and marshmallows in the microwave for about 45 seconds. Stir and heat again for about 15 more seconds or until melted.
Quickly stir in your jello mix until it is fully mixed.
Pour over rice krispies.
With greased hands, press into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Repeat with second color and press it on top of the first. (So one is red, one is blue.)
Once it is setup nicely, use a star shape cookie cutter to cut out the rice krispies and then stick them on a sucker stick.
