Um….is it becoming way too obvious that I’ve got a major thing for those cute little minions? I’ve done party favors and a towel and now I’ve got a DIY Minion Shirt. I’d like to tell you that this is the last minion project I’m doing, but truthfully, it’s probably not. I’ve still got one more fun idea!
I think these minion shirts for kids would make a great holiday gift idea!
I gave these ones to my three little nephews and I think they loved them! You can make each minion face a little different if you want too!
Minion Shirt for Kids Tutorial:
- Yellow shirts (pre-shrink them)
- Americana Multi Surface Satin Paint or SoSoft Fabric Paint in Grey, Black, White and Brown
- Cardboard (to put inside the shirt while you paint)
- Paint brushes
With your shirts preshrunk and ironed, insert some cardboard inside to prevent the paint from soaking through.
(I thought I took pictures of the process of making this shirt, but I can’t find them.) No worries, it’s pretty self explanatory.)
First I painted the white eyes. This took several coats. Then I added the grey ring to the outside of the eyes.
Once all of that is dry go ahead and add eye balls that are brown and the black accents-hair, smile and goggle strap. You can make the mouths happy or sad or silly, it doesn’t matter because every minion looks a little different.
