What’s the Project? Looking for some fun Christmas sewing projects this holiday season? Here are a bunch of free sewing patterns to get you feeling festive while you sew! From stockings to aprons, decor to gifts, you’re going to love these holiday sewing projects.

Turn that festive music on, light a cinnamon candle, and sit down at the sewing machine. Those are some of my favorite times during the holiday season—when I can just settle in on a fun project, maybe watch a Christmas movie while I work, and just enjoy the journey. Do you love doing that too?

It doesn’t matter if it’s a little early—you can start Christmas sewing projects anytime you want (and no one will tell if you want to just pretend it’s Christmas while you work and listen to those favorite carols. Some of my boys love that!).

Or maybe it’s fully into the holiday season and you’re scrambling now and trying to squeeze in time to work on these patterns. Either way, these fun Christmas sewing projects are great things to sew for Christmas and can really bring you some fun and satisfaction as you finish them up!

Best Christmas Sewing Projects

Either way, what kind of project is more fun to sew than Christmas and holiday sewing?

Need a little inspiration? This is a round-up of 25+ things to sew for Christmas and it includes everything from apparel (need a new holiday dress for yourself or your little girl?), easy to sew stockings, decor ideas like fabric banners, fun holiday throw pillows, and hand towels, and some fun a quirky Christmas sewing projects like a fun Santa apron or Santa bag as well as simple Christmas gifts to sew.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get sewing!

A few tips to help your holiday sewing go a little more smoothly:

  • Did you know that you can order your fabric online from companies on Etsy or similar sites? That way you don’t have to fight crowds in the store and wait in that long cutting line.
  • Or—some companies (Joann Fabrics for example) off curbside pickup so you can order ahead and just pull up and grab it (a silver lining to the whole pandemic thing)
  • Settle in to sew when you’ve got time to work for a while if you can. Batch your projects so you don’t have to keep getting your supplies out over and over.

Get ready to sew! Whether it’s November, December, or even July!
