Crazy Little Kids Projects: Craft Projects for Kids by Kids

Cora is a 13 year old girl who submitted her tutorial for ribbon bookmarks that are perfect for kids to make and I loved them immediately. Plus, she’s a blogger herself at B3 Bookmarks and makes bookmarks to raise money for charity. Pretty neat right?

Hi! My name is Cora, I’m 13 years old and I blog at B3 Bookmarks. I started blogging in 2010 when I had just started making bookmarks to raise money for an organization called Samaritan’s Purse. On my blog, I post updates on my most recent fundraiser, book reviews, and tutorials on quick and easy crafts.
The project I’m sharing today is for the ribbon bookmarks that I make and sell.

Kid’s Craft: Ribbon Bookmark Craft Tutorial:

Supplies needed:
Scissors
Ribbon
Beads
Thread end glue or Fray Check
Instructions:
Step One: Measure your book. Your ribbon should be about 5-6 inches longer than your book so that you have room for the beads.
Step Two: Use the Fray Check to finish both ends of your ribbon.
Step Three: Tie a knot at the end of your ribbon after your Fray Check has dried (If your ribbon is thin, or if your beads have large holes, you may want to double-knot it)
Step Four: String your beads onto the ribbon.
Step Five: Tie another knot where your beads end to hold them in place.
Step Six: (Optional) Repeat steps 3-5 on the other end of the bookmark. You’re finished!
Now all you have to decide is which book to use it in for all that summer reading!
Thank you Cora for submitting this tutorial! I love it and I know my kids will love it! Perfect summer craft to encourage kids to read.
Be sure to also check out Cora’s blog and guess what? Her mom is also a blogger at Hopeful Threads-check her out too!

Wow Cora, great job! Not only the excellent bookmark tutorial, which is fabulous, but also the blog and other endeavors at only 13. Super!

Nice! I like that they are thin so they’ll fit between the pages well, yet made out of fabric so I wouldn’t have to be as careful as with paper :)
