Strawberry Shortcake Trifle Recipe

Let’s make it!

Strawberry Shortcake Trifle Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 white cake mix
  • 1 large box vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/2 C water
  • 1 C vegetable oil
  • 1 C sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 quart heavy cream/whipping cream whipped
  • 1 large package strawberries
  • 1/3 C powdered sugar
  • Mason jars or clear cups

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the first 7 ingredients till smooth. Pour into a cake pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until it is lightly brown and springs back when you touch it.

While the cake cools whip your cream till thick.

Add 1/3 C powdered sugar to your whipped cream.

Slice most of your strawberries saving some for the tops of your trifles.

Now begin to layer your trifles in your jars or cups. Start with strawberries and place about 5 slices in the bottom, then add a layer of whipped cream. Crumble some of the cake into about 1 inch chunks and place that on top. Repeat and then top with whipped cream and a strawberry.

This should make at least 1 dozen trifles, depending on the size of your jars or cups.

Enjoy!

Ooooohhh, this looks so yummy! Good idea. Is the “1 quart” 1 quart of heavy cream? Thanks for sharing this recipe, will definitely give it a try.

Do you think these would hold up well for a bakery auction?
My granddaughter’s young women have an auction each year so they can go to camp.
    They look and sound wonderful!

I think it would maybe be easier to do the cupcake version? http://crazylittleprojects.com/2016/04/strawberry-shortcake-cupcakes.html
Gotta love girl’s camp fundraisers. 🙂

This looks delicious! Is this cake crumbly or could you cut it with a cookie cutter and it wouldn’t fall apart?

      A little crumbly

It would be great for the nutritional information to be included. As a diabetic I have to count calories, carbs & fat.
