What’s the Project? Calling all Milky Way lovers! What happens when you mix your favorite candy with a soft chocolate cookie? These Milky Way cookies are born and you’re going to be in heaven.
I’m not typically a huge candy eater and there are only a few candy bars that I really love. Milky Way is one of them. (Baby Ruth is the other.)
It’s only been recently that Milky Ways have started to top my list of favorite candy bars. I think it was a few Halloweens while I was raiding my kids candy buckets (ya right, like I would ever do that!) that I discovered just how good they are! There’s something about the nougat and caramel combo that is just right to me. I love ’em.
I’m also a big cookie lover, so putting the two of these together is like a match made in heaven.
So today I am baking them straight into a nice chocolate cookie. Because really, who doesn’t love a chocolate cookie? Makes is a mess of chocolate and caramel goodness. I give you Milky Way cookies:
Do those look good to you? They definitely call my name.

Cookie Making Tips:
If you’re going to make these, and I think you should, here are a few of my favorite tips for cookie making to help the process.
- Never over bake. For my oven, cookies typically take exactly 9 minutes (though I did just get a new oven and am going to have to do some tweaking. Play with times for yours and make sure you aren’t cooking them any longer than necessary. You want them to be just cooked through but no more than that.
- Keep your dough soft. You want it to just be able to make balls, but not be too firm or they won’t be as chewy and soft.
That’s a couple of easy and quick cookie making tips, but now, let’s take a look at the recipe.

After years of baking almost every kind of cookie for my family, I baked these last week for the first time and my daughter says that they are now her favorite cookie! They are excellent….I think the secret is to cut each fun size milky way into 8 equal pieces which evenly distributes them throughout the dough.
