Cookie Dough Pizza Recipe

One of my kids favorite places to go out to eat is a local pizza buffet. I have to say that I don’t love their pizza but I do love their cookie dough pizza. So…I thought I would try making my own version! This is a great dessert idea that is quick and easy to make and is a perfect dessert for any party you are throwing! It’s a Cookie Dough Pizza topped with hot fudge, caramel and cream cheese frosting. It’s melty, gooey and wonderful!

Cookie Dough Dessert Pizza Recipe

Mmmmmmmm!

Dessert Pizza: Cookie Dough, Hot Fudge, Caramel and Frosting

Cookie Dough Pizza Recipe:

**First, let me tell you this. There are 2 ways to make this. All of the ingredients can be store bought and you can make this very quick and easy. Or, if you love to bake, you can make everything yourself. It’s your choice!

Ingredients:

  • Pizza Dough (buy refrigerated dough or see recipe below)
  • Cookie Dough (any chocolate chip cookie dough will work)
  • Hot Fudge Sauce (store bought or use my favorite recipe)
  • Caramel Sauce (again, store bought or made from scratch-see recipe below)
  • Frosting (I used cream cheese frosting. You can buy any white frosting or make cream cheese or butter cream.)

After you have all of the ingredients ready, here is how to assemble the pizza:

Spread the dough into a pizza pan. Bake at 400 degrees for about 5 minutes, till it just starts to get light brown.

Break your cookie dough into pieces and sprinkle across the pizza to cover it completely (other than the crust).

Put back in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, until crust looks done and cookie dough is just starting to brown on top.

Pull out of the oven and squeeze frosting (I put mine in a bag and cut off the corner for this) onto pizza, filling in the gaps where the cookie dough isn’t. Put back in the oven for about 1 minute to let the frosting melt a little.

Drizzle with hot fudge and caramel and you’re done!

Pizza Dough Recipe:

 Ingredients:

  • 1/2 C plus 1/8 C warm water
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 C flour

Soften yeast in water for about 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined. Cover with damp dishcloth and allow to raise 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

Caramel Sauce Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 C Sugar
  • 6 Tbsp butter (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 C Heavy Cream (at room temperature)

Instructions:

Read through all of these instructions before you begin so that you are prepared because you need to move fast.

Pour sugar into a pot on the stove and begin to cook over medium high heat.

As the sugar starts to melt it will clump into little sugar rocks. Begin to whisk it at this time. Keep whisking and it will start to melt into a liquid. If the sugar gets stuck inside your whisk, switch to a spoon for a while.

Keep whisking and stirring until the temperature reaches 350 degrees or it’s a nice, deep amber color.

Then, stir in your butter. Once that is fully incorporated, add your heavy cream and mix that in. Keep mixing until you can get all of the lumps out.

Let this sit for about 10 minutes or so to set up.

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe:

  • 2 packages of cream cheese (8 oz)
  • 1 stick of softened butter
  • 2-3 C powdered sugar
  • 2-4 Tbsp milk

Mix all of these ingredients together until smooth. Add more powdered sugar if it’s too runny or more milk if it is too thick.
