What’s the Project? These cute monster stuffed animal patterns are cute to make for kids. Great for boys or girls and can be customized to be perfect for the kid you’re making it for, these little guys make a wonderful gift and a fun sewing project.
Sometimes I just want something fun and cute to sew for my little boys and this ended up being a really fun sewing project to make for them! Make them a little stuffed monster in any color, meaning it’s perfect for boys or girls and can be customized for any kid. These stuffed animal patterns are fun to sew and the monsters are so cute!
The arms and the legs are basically just like a basic doll pattern, but then I added horns and a soft minky body with a crazy face to make this guy cute, silly and loveable!
Think you’ve got a kid who would love this?
Here’s how to make him!
Monster Stuffed Animal Patterns:
Supplies Needed:
- 1/4 yard of soft, minky fabric for the body
- Small amounts of minky fabric for arms, legs and horns
- Small amounts of fleece in white, black, orange and yellow for the face
- Poly fil Stuffing
- Monster Stuffed Animal Pattern: Head Piece
- Monster Pattern: Face Pieces
- Monster Pattern: Arms and Legs
Instructions:
Print out your pattern pieces and cut all of the pieces from your fabric. Cut two large oval pieces that are about 12 inches wide by 14 inches tall for the body.
With right sides together, sew your legs, arms, and horns around the outer edges leaving the top edge open to turn:
Turn those all right side out and stuff them with your stuffing.
Place your face pieces on one of you head pieces and sew each one in place with a simple straight stitch around the outer edge. I tol you to use fleece for these pieces because it won’t fray.
Now you will sew the bottom of the head to the top of the body with a simple straight line across the two. Place right sides together and sew across the top:
Lay the horns in place but facing into the face:
Do the same with the arms down on the body. Then place the back of your monster on top and pin it all the way around.
Sew all the way around leaving about 6 inches open at the bottom. Turn the monster right side out and stuff him.
Stick the legs in place and pin the opening closed on them. Then sew that shut:
And that’s it! He’s done! Not too bad I hope?
Hopefully, you love making this cute monster stuffed animal pattern.

Hiya!
Well hopefully I can make some of your other patterns too. So far I’ve made 3 of the cute 👾 s for 3of my grandchildren, I’ve 3 more to do for my other grandchildren including modification of said 👾 to make a lil one for my 9 months old youngest grandchild and I’ll also make same colours in the original sized 👾 too!!!! Once I got the gist of your pattern instructions I sailed away, I made all of the monsters by hand stitching and my grandchildren have so far loved them. Here’s hoping the rest will love theirs too. My grandson Owen calls his Monmon and was soooo happy when he got his with his younger sister, his elder sister loved her glasses case in a skeleton material with red roses! Your patterns have been brilliant for my ability of making things my gorgeously loveable grandchildren will cherish for years to come.
Best wishes Mandy

I love that your brain figured out how to take the doll pattern to a monster. I think I need to go find a fabric doll pattern today.

I can’t give you the body pattern because it is larger than a single sheet of paper, so I just gave you the dimensions.

Do you have tutorial in a video format from youtube? I am a “TRULY” beginner for sewing and saw lots of your projects here. I am really encouraging to start doing it with my new machine.

Very cute. I know 4 little boys (and probably several of their friends) who would love these. And I love the idea of the women and children’s shelter. Thanks.
