What’s the Project? These cute snowman cookies are fun to make any time in the winter-whether it’s Christmas or January or any snowy time! A great project to make with the kids or for the kids!
I am buried deep in the January blues! It just feels like such a gloomy month with so little going on compared to the rush of the holidays and it always feels like it needs some bright spots in it.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a long to do list for cleaning and organizing and what not, but it’s still so gloomy. So I booked a trip for myself to San Diego!
But since that’s not until next week, for now, I spent some time with my littlest baking all day and making fun things. He had a blast making these Snowman Cookies with me. He even decorated his own, a “ninja” version!
These snowman cookies would also be fun to make at Christmas! They’re good for any time!
So cute, so simple! Little hands can make these easily! And they can work all winter long.
And you can get creative with colors and decorating if you want!
Do you love them as much as I do? They’re just so cute and so simple!
Love snowmen? Here are a couple of other fun snowman projects:
So many cute ideas! But for now, let’s make these snowman cookies!
Snowman Cookies Recipe:
You can use any sugar cookies to make these! Got a recipe you love? Use that. Or grab some at the store. Here is my favorite recipe if you need one:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 C butter
- 1 C sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 C milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 2 C flour
Mix all of these ingredients, then chill the dough for at least one hour.
Roll out dough about 1/2 inch thick. Use a cup or circle cookie cutter to cut circles.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes or until edges are just barely starting to look brown.
Decorating the Snowman Cookies:
Supplies Needed:
- Cookies
- Frosting (grab some store-bought or use a nice buttercream)
- Twizzlers Pull n’ Peel
- M&Ms
- Candy eyes (craft store or baking section of most grocery stores)
- Mini chocolate chips
Frost your cookies.
Cut a piece of the Twizzlers Pull n’ Peel so that it will reach about halfway around your cookie. Place it and then add two M&Ms for the ear muffs.
Add eyes and an orange M&M nose.
Place mini chocolate chips upside down (so that the flat bottom is showing) to make a mouth.
And you’re done! It’s that easy!
I hope you have a great time making these snowman cookies!
