Easy Easter Egg Wreath

What’s the Project? This easy to make Easter egg wreath is easy to put together and will add the perfect touch of Spring to your front door! Use pastel colors or bright colors or whatever you choose to make this great Easter wreath!

I know it’s not quite Spring and Easter time yet, but the days are getting a little longer and March is in sight and I’ve got a little bit of Spring fever going on here, so I’m itching to start posting some Easter projects. And this is a good one to get started on because you can make it this week and then hang it on your door for March!

Back when I started this blog, this Easter Egg Wreath was one of my very first tutorials. Like one of the first three projects I ever did for the blog. It’s a very simple Spring project that will brighten up your front door and it’s very easy to make! Now I am updating this post with a couple of new pictures and tips on how to make this easy Easter Wreath:

Easter Egg Wreath Tutorial

It’s pretty to easy to make. It only took me about 30 minutes (perfect amount of time to watch a show while you work) and I love how it turned out!! It’s a great Easter or Spring decoration.

 

Easter Wreath Tutorial:

Supplies Needed:

  • Styrofoam Wreath form (any size you want)
  • Plastic Easter Eggs (I used about 55. It will depend a little bit on the size of your wreath.)
  • Hot glue
  • Ribbon

How to Make an Easter Egg Wreath
Heat up your glue and as soon as it is even a little bit warm and ready to use, start gluing eggs. The key here is that you never want this hot glue to get too hot or it will melt your styrofoam wreath form. To do this I simply used the glue until it got really hot, then unplugged the hot glue gun and kept working until it got too cooled down, then plugged it in again. Just keep it warm, but not hot.
Begin gluing eggs around the wreath. Try to do it carefully so that you don’t have a lot of the wreath form showing through. Place them closely together, twisting them in different directions so that they fit together tightly:

I recommend doing one batch around the wreath and then go around once more adding them to the outer bottom to fill in some of the blanks.

Easter Egg Wreaths

When you are done, cut a piece of ribbon about 12 inches long and loop it in half. Glue the raw edges on the back so that it forms a way to hang it from your door. Let it all dry and you are done!

Here’s a peek at my original version. Maybe you will like the bright colors better. Do whatever you like best!

    This is s cute! I love the bright colors and the eggs themselves. It’s such a fun idea to make them a wreath. And that DIY chick mason jar drives me crazy. It’s so creatively awesome!

    Hello. Love this egg wreath! What I am wondering is if you could use tacky glue instead of a glue gun? Glue guns and I do not get along!! Thank you very much.

      Wrap the styrofoam with a pastel ribbon first so you don’t see that but the ribbon through the eggs, much more finished looking then. I would also add a big Easter theme print bow to it too.
