What’s the Project? These cute reindeer cupcakes are a cute and fun project to make with the kids for Christmas this year. They will love making these little guys and they taste great too!
I’m a huge sucker for these little edible eyes and can’t get enough of making cute holiday treats with them! They just turn out so cute!
I love these little reindeer cupcakes and had a lot of fun making them with my kids for Christmas. They are a great project to do with your kids or grandkids this year!
They will love it and you’ll make great memories doing it.
Cute little guy, right?
And if you want to have even more fun, make this cute Christmas tree cupcake too!
But for now, here’s how to make the reindeer.
Christmas Reindeer Cupcakes Recipe:
You can use any cupcakes you want, but here is my favorite chocolate cupcake recipe. It’s easy but SO good!
Ingredients Needed:
- Devils Food Cake Mix (Pilsbury tends to work better than Betty Crocker)
- 1 large package of instant chocolate pudding
- 1 C sour cream
- 1 C oil
- 1/2 water
- 1 Tbsp vanilla
- 4 eggs
- Googly eyes-can be found in the baking section of stores. I’ve seen them at Target and at Kroger stores. I am sure more stores have them too.
- Chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- Red M&Ms
- Pretzels
How to Make the Cupcakes:
Mix the cake mix with all of the ingredients through the eggs. Place in cupcake tins that are lined with 24 cupcake liners.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 18 minutes or until done.
Let them cool. (If you are making your own frosting, make it while they bake.)
To frost-put your frosting in a large Ziploc bag and snip off one corner. Starting in the center of the cupcake, swirl out and then up with the frosting to make a little spiraled pile.
Add googly eyes and nose.
To make the antlers, just break off a piece of pretzel and stick it down in a little bit.
Here’s a fun YouTube video of the process (along with a couple of other cupcakes as well):
And have fun taking these to a holiday party. The kids will go nuts! (I know because my boys went nuts.)
