What’s the Project? Make this cute DIY Christmas pillow for your home! It’s festive, it’s easy, and it looks great for the holidays!
I was actually laying in my bed the other night when I had the idea to create this little Christmas tree out of words. I am lucky the idea stuck in my brain rather than fading off into dreamland when I fell asleep because that doesn’t always happen. Sometimes I wake up knowing I had a great idea, but it’s gone!
But this one stuck, so I did it and I love how it turned out! This is a great DIY Christmas pillow that you can make for your home this year!
You’ll need a way to cut vinyl to make this. So if you don’t have a cutting machine of your own, find a friend who does (Trust me, I get asked all the time to cut things for friends.)
Here’s the design you will need to cut for your pillow.
Just go ahead and save that to your computer and then open it in your cutting machine’s software and it should work!
I made mine in glitter vinyl because I love glitter vinyl!

DIY Christmas Pillow Tutorial:
Supplies Needed:
- Pillow form
- Heat Transfer Glitter Vinyl (I used Silhouette’s new extra sparkly kind and I LOVE it!)
- Fabric
- Iron
Use this template and upload it into your cutting program:
Make sure to mirror image this when cutting on your vinyl.
Cut a piece of fabric that is the dimensions of your pillow plus one inch going one direction. So I had 20 by 20 inch pillows, so I cut my fabric 20 by 21 inches.
Iron the glitter vinyl to your pillow. (Instructions on how to do that here.)
Sew the pillow around all 4 sides (with right sides together) but leave about 10 inches open at the center of the bottom. Turn it right side out and stuff your pillow form inside.
Sew the opening shut and display proudly!
Just for fun I also made a snowflake pillow!

And you’re all set! Hope you love making this DIY Christmas Pillow!
