You know how sometimes you want to give someone a gift and you want it to be money but if feel sort of lame to just give them a check? (At least that’s how I feel!) Want to spruce it up a little bit? Here’s a creative gift idea for you-a fun way to give money! It’s a Money Wreath! Great for any occasion:
I made a graduation version since it’s coming up and this is the perfect fit for that! But it would also work great for a birthday:
Or a wedding or whatever else you need it for!
Money Wreath Gift Idea:
- Wreath Form
- Dollar bills (or larger)
- String or twine
- Foam Adhesive Dots
- Paper fan (Buy it or make one)
First off, it’s important to start out knowing how much money you want to put on this wreath. Mine has about $50 on it and it is a 9 inch diameter wreath (measuring from the inside of the wreath form). That’s will all $1 bills. If you want more you can throw in some higher denominations. If you want less, get a smaller wreath form.
Now, pull up a good movie, because they rolling of the dollars will take a little while. It probably took me about an hour (and a good episode of Call the Midwife).
Simple roll each bill and then tie with a small piece of twine or string.
I then put two of my foam dots on the back. (These will peel easily off the money, but have a good stick to the wreath which is why I chose them.)
Then just stick it on the wreath. I used two because it helped balance it and line it up well.
At the top add your paper fan. Mine is store bought, but you can make one. Then add a cute label. Here’s a printable grad one you can use:
