Anyone else have kids absolutely obsessed with Minecraft right now? (Anyone else not understand this game at all?) My boys live and breathe Minecraft. (Or they would if their mom would let them play all day.) So when I told them I wanted to make them their own Minecraft shirts they were game!
In truth though, this is a craft that I could have let them do themselves! It’s pretty easy.
I am thinking this could be a lot of fun if you were having a Minecraft themed birthday party!
How to Make Minecraft Shirts:
- Plain t-shirts
- Fabric Paint
- Wooden block with a square end
- Paint brush
I always like to stick a piece of cardboard inside the shirt when I am working on it so that the paint doesn’t seep through. I just cut the front out of a cereal box for this usually.
I then used a wooden block as my stamp. I dipped the end in the paint:
And stamped onto the shirt. I recommend not getting it too thick because I noticed that in the places that I did it cracked a little.
You can touch up with the paint brush if needed.
To make the Enderman I simply did two white squares for each eye:
And then added a purple square in the middle. Quick and easy.
To make the pig I started by painting a large pink square. Then I let that dry and added eyes just like I did with the Enderman:
And I lightened the pink paint by adding a little white to make the nose:
And then darkened it a little with some red to make the nostrils.
Really, you can make any Minecraft character-these were just what my boys chose. Have fun!
