Well, month 2 of the Sew Crazy Challenge is just about to come to an end, so it’s time to have a look back at the month, see some of the projects and get excited for the next challenge.
Sew Crazy Challenge February Recap:
The theme this month was Home is Where the Heart Is and we sewed projects for the home.
We’ve had two fun giveaways this month and I want to thank our sponsors. We still have a $100 gift card to Online Fabric Store available. Make sure that you enter to win before it’s too late! The contest ends February 28th at midnight EST. If you completed a project this month you MUST enter on the rafflecopter giveaway form to be entered to win. Enter here.
I love the home fabrics at Online Fabric Store! Check them out if you haven’t yet.
We also had a fun Scavenger Hunt that was sponsored by Riley Blake Designs. Six fabric bundles were hidden around the blog and clues were given for winners to find them. Riley Blake makes the cutest fabrics! Many, many of my projects are done with Riley Blake Designs fabrics!
That scavenger hunt was such a big hit-I think we will have to do another for sure!
Now, let’s take a look at some of the fun projects that readers submitted this month.
By far the most popular project option was the Heart Shaped Oven Mitt. Frankly, I am surprised so many of you did and did it successfully. It can be a tricky one, but you rocked it! Here are a few particularly cute ones.
Loved the fabrics on this one from Denia Gaspar:
Brenda Chewning-Rutledge made these cute owl ones for a friend who loves owls:
Jenn Hess Moore added cute little embellishments to hers:
And I love this one from Jackie Rettick with the fun Valentine’s fabric:
And seriously-add pink and gray fabric with chocolate in the picture and I am a goner. Thanks jplemm!
Here’s a couple of fun classic oven mitts as well.
Love the bright colors on this one from Schultz (sorry-don’t have full names on some of these, just instagram names):
And love that Janai made her daughter a kid sized one:
Dana Hicks tried the ruffle pillow from It’s Always Autumn and it turned out GREAT!
Tiffanie Davis piped some fun pillows:
Jeanette Schafer also piped a pillow and quilted it as well:
And Melissa Fallis added fun trim to her pillows. Love these colors!
I didn’t see many attempts at the bean bag chair? But this one is just fantastic! From Elizabeth:
