Sometimes blogging can be a little stressful. Not often. Mostly I just love it! But this project STRESSED ME OUT! Probably because it involved a hammer and nails. I’m not too good with building type projects. But in reality, it wasn’t too hard to pull this together and I love the end result.
Kristen Duke is doing a series about Decorating with Pictures. When she asked me to join in on her series this month, I knew it was just the kick in the pants that I needed to get some decorating done in my master bedroom. I had a project in mind, I just needed to kick start to actually do it.
Want to see what I did?
I took 4 crazy and cute pictures of my 4 little guys:
And hung them on a piece of bead board to add depth and excitement to this part of my bedroom. I love how it turned out!
Let me show you the step by step of how I did this. Because really, it’s not that hard!
Decorate with Picture Frames and Bead Board:
- Picture frames (I just got cheap $4 ones)
- DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint (get it at Michael’s or Home Depot)
- Spray finish
- Piece of bead board cut to the size you want
- Heavy duty picture frame hangers
- Small nails
- Liquid nails
I started out by painting my picture frames with the DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint. It’s handy because it adheres to any surface and worked like a charm painting these frames:
This chalky finish paint goes on very easily. It will dry with an ultra matte finish.
I sprayed it with the DecoArt spray finish in Matte after I was done painting.
Then, I got a piece of bead board cut at the home improvement store. Get yours any size you want. Mine is 52 inches by 20 inches.
I attached picture frame hangers to the back, but I could tell that the screw was too long and was going to go all the way through the bead board, so I used liquid nails instead:
And put tiny nails into the bead board to hang the frames. Then I hung the whole thing on the wall.
