Last year for Valentine’s Day I came up with a fun idea that ended up being a PERFECT gift for my kids on that day. (They are my little boyfriends after all.) I made them a coupon that said that they got a lunch date with mom. Then I took turns with each of them-picked them up from school, took them out to lunch and got cupcakes, then dropped them off back at school. So much fun! Here’s a fun new twist on that idea-DIY Chalkboard Valentine Coupons:
Like it? Your kids will.
DIY Chalkboard Valentine Coupons:
- Card stock or lightweight cardboard
- Scrapbook paper
- Americana Chalkboard Paint
- Chalk or Chalk Marker
- Glue dots or double sided tape
I used a large piece of Chip Board which is like a very light weight cardboard. You could use a cereal box or a piece of card stock-whatever you want. Just something fairly heavy duty. Give it one quick quote of chalk board paint:
Allow that to dry and then rub a piece of chalk all over it:
Wipe it off with a paper towel and it will now look like a chalkboard. Then just cut it into pieces and cut a piece of scrapbook paper slight larger. Mount the chalkboard pieces to the scrapbook paper pieces with a strong adhesive such as glue dots or double sided tape:
Then write on the chalkboard part. I used the chalkboard markers because they won’t rub off. To erase them and reuse the coupons you simply need to wipe it with a damp cloth.
I think my boys will love it.
Do you have ideas of things to write on the coupons for kids? What about the one you love?
