Is anyone else super excited for summer? My kids get out in just over a week and I can’t wait!!! I absolutely love summertime.
One of my favorite part of summer is backyard BBQs. Love them. This year though I will be sprucing them up a little. Check this out…polkadot lemonade jugs.
Kind of fun right?
Polkadot Lemonade Jug Tutorial:
Water jug (I got mine at Target)
DecoArt’s Gloss Enamel Paint (They can be found at Michael’s-I recommend the regular gloss enamel for this project, not the gloss or the frost)
Stencil (I made mine….see below)
Cosmetic sponge to paint with
To make my stencil I used some scrap pieces of adhesive vinyl (get it at a craft store). I simply used a circular hole punch to punch a circle in my vinyl. The punch I used was 1 3/8 inch.
Then just peel the stencil off (while the paint is still wet) and move it to a new spot and repeat. I used a new stencil each time I changed colors.
If you make a mistake grab a q-tip and some nail polish remover and it will easily wipe off. The paint will also wipe off with a damp rag while it is still wet.
Let it dry for 4 days and then bake it for 30 minutes. (Instructions for this are on your paint.)
You could also make matching cups!!!
