My boys get out of school in 13 days!!! Yay yay yay! I LOVE having my boys home for summertime fun. In honor of that, I am dedicating the next 2 weeks to a Summer Fun Countdown on my blog. I have lots of fun summer time ideas to share with you. Each post this week and next will feature a new summer fun idea or theme. Things to do with your kids, summer treats, summer activities, you name it. (Make sure to follow me on facebook if you want to be notified of new ideas each day.)
I know some moms hate summer because of fighting and boredom. I won’t say we completely avoid those here, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve to keep them in check.
One of my favorites is the Summer Fun Coupon Bookthat I give my boys at the beginning of summer:
In this book, created by me, they find vouchers good for various yummy treats around town. Each week they get to agree on one coupon to use and we go to that restaurant sometime that week and I buy them whatever the coupon is good for.
Some examples:
Good for Lunch at Sonic:
Good for Hot N Ready’s and Crazy Bread at the park:
Here’s a peek inside the actual book: (ignore the cheesy caption at the top) :)

To make your own, count up how many full weeks of summer you have and then create 1 coupon for each week.
Most of my coupons are for local restaurants, not chains, that will be fun and unique to hit up.
You can add a twist to them too like walking or biking there if you are close enough, meeting a friend or dad there, taking it to the park to eat, or whatever suits your fancy.
When we go out of town during the summer we sometimes try to use a coupon wherever we go. If we can’t, we just make up for it the next week and do 2 that week.
I hope you do this and enjoy it! Let me know if you do!
