I love this FAMILY sign. It’s spelled out with letters made up from things I found around town. This was a fun project and something that makes me happy every time I look at it on the wall of my house.
It’s simple really-just go out and about and find random things that look like letters and then put them all together to spell a word.

Just to give you an idea, my F is part of a a porch light, my A a park bench, the M a bike rack, the I is part of a trash can, the L is a pillar and the Y is the bottom or a table and then I flipped the picture upside down.
I did mine in Balboa Park in San Diego-so many fun options in the architecture there. Then I added a little border and the word Forever to spruce it up a bit.
You can do names (for a kid’s room or even a teenage girl’s) or meaningful words like Family or Blessed. I’ve also seen people do things for wedding with the couple’s last name and then est. 2011 or whatever year they are married.
Get it printed (my print is size 10″ x 20″ and I got mine printed at mpix.com because they do unusual sizes and because it is great quality), frame it (my frame is 8″ x 20″ so I just trimmed a little off the top and bottom of my print), and you have a fun and unique item of home decor or a great gift.
The print cost me $8.99 and then you can get a frame like this for around $10.
Or, if you don’t feel like taking the pictures yourself and putting it all together, you are welcome to use mine!
